Good news: Spain will not take away residence permits from foreigners for long departures from the country.

Staying outside of Spain for six months will no longer be grounds for revoking the temporary residence permit of a foreign citizen. So decided the Supreme Court of Spain.

The Administrative Division of the Supreme Court invalidated a provision in the Immigration Act that allowed the government to revoke a temporary residence and work permit for a foreigner if he was out of the country for six months.
